The Challenge

Started, paused and resumed throughout the Covid lockdown years, this project became a gradual transformation in lightness and tone.

Dark timber shutters and black blinds were removed, while the timber floors were sanded back and refinished in a softer, lighter hue. Walls were repainted throughout, and previously dark doors and window frames were colour-matched to create a quieter architectural backdrop.

Custom window furnishings and tailored bedheads were introduced alongside new rugs, furniture, lighting, artworks and collected objects, bringing warmth and cohesion to each space.

The kitchen was fully appointed with considered utensils and appliances, while the bedrooms were completed with layered linens — allowing the home to feel resolved, welcoming and ready to live in from day one.
